Don’t Listen to the Left: Here’s What West Virginians Really Think of Manchin’s ‘No’ to Biden

The general feeling on the left is that the voters of West Virginia are going to punish Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin for not voting for President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better spending spree, effectively killing it. Never mind the fact that the White House had done almost nothing to address Manchin’s issues with it: the risk of inflation, the fact it launched numerous long-term programs with only short-term funding solutions, those sorts of serious existential issues. (Both of these were very real concerns — something the media didn’t particularly want to report on. We’ve been bringing you all of this at The Western Journal since the spending bill was announced, it’s worth noting, and we’ll continue to bring America the truth about the Democrats’ tax-and-spend plans. You can help us bring A...

Mark Meadows Just Made His Second Big Move Against Pelosi and Her Jan 6 Committee

Well, that’s all too fitting for what we’re seeing right now unfold with Mark Meadows and Nancy Pelosi’s January 6th sham committee. Early on, Meadows, who was President Trump’s chief of staff, agreed to cooperate with the committee and sent over thousands of pages of non-classified documents and text messages for Pelosi and her jackals to review. But that wasn’t good enough.

Guess Who Trump’s ‘Tax Cuts for the Rich’ Benefited the Most

There’s a refrain we hear almost by default when a Republican proposes tax cuts. Like Pavlov’s dogs or preprogrammed robots, Democrats rush out to decry “tax cuts for the rich.” How about this headline from The Guardian in 2019: Trump’s tax cuts helped billionaires pay less than the working class for first time — and that was two years after the tax cuts. And don’t forget what one leading Democrat said: Rep. Nancy Pelosi, who now serves as the speaker of the House, said on November 6, 2017, “Despite Republicans’ empty promises to cut taxes for middle class working families, it’s clear that the GOP tax plan for the wealthiest is rich indeed.” “House Republicans’ tax bill would increase taxes for 12 percent of Americans next year, according to a new report from the nonpartisan Tax Policy Cen...

Mark Meadows Sues Pelosi, Jan. 6 Committee for Unconstitutional Overreach

Former Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows filed suit Wednesday against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and every member of the January 6 select committee in response to their attempt to hold him in criminal contempt. “The subpoenas issued to Mark Meadows and Verizon were issued by the Select Committee as part of an unconstitutional attempt to usurp the Executive Branch’s authority to enforce the law and to expose what the Select Committee believes to be problematic actions by a political opponent,” the lawsuit reads. “Congress has no authority to issue subpoenas for these purposes.” The former North Carolina representative told Newsmax earlier this week the committee was abusing its power. “For months, Mr. Meadows has consistently sought in good faith to pursue an accommodation with the S...

Frank Destadio Candidate Post 4 Peachtree City

My Plan: o I plan on working right from the beginning to make sure developers design their projects within our City’s design standards. I will stop them from making changes in our Design Standards. o I will stop developers from obtaining variances in our zoning ordinances. I will continue to disallow the rezoning of our precious industrial zones to residential zones for more housing. o I strongly support the Village Concept and as such I would not agree with more annexation without a clearer understanding of the impacts to City and our way of life. o Lastly, I am firmly opposed to opening TDK Blvd. It will not help with the traffic and will only further impact the terrible congestion within our City infrastructure. > My Past Experience: o Peachtree City Planning Commission 2010-2021. Ch...

Ted Cruz Absolutely Levels Chuck Schumer During Must-Watch Victory Lap Speech on S.1 Failure

Now that the so-called “For the People” act is dead thanks to the filibuster, Democrats are predictably throwing tantrums while Republicans are lining up to take a well-deserved victory lap over its defeat. Perhaps no other GOP Senator was more cutting in his remarks towards Democrats than Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who took to the floor of the U.S. Senate Tuesday night and proceeded to straight-up blister Democrats, in particular, Sen. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) not just over them trying to pull off a massive power grab, but also over what he called “the most pernicious aspect” of the bill: “the racial demagoguery that it has invited.” “We’ve heard the Senate Majority Leader invoke in booming terms specters from our sorry history of racial discrimination in the past,” Cruz state...
