Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein threatened to “subpoena” emails, phone records and other documents from lawmakers and staff on a Republican-led House committee during a tense meeting earlier this year, according to emails reviewed by Fox News documenting the encounter and reflecting what aides described as a “personal attack.” The emails memorialized a January 2018 closed-door meeting involving senior FBI and Justice Department officials as well as members of the House Intelligence Committee. The account claimed Rosenstein threatened to turn the tables on the committee’s inquiries regarding the Russia probe.

Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe plans to retire from the bureau early next year, according to a new report. McCabe is retiring amid heavy scrutiny from congressional Republicans over his roles in the Russia investigation and the Clinton email probe. Top Republican lawmakers like Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley have recently called for McCabe’s ouster.
When word of the Trump dossier first started making the rounds, one of the myths was that 17 intelligence agencies had looked it over and gave it credibility. That was a lie to start with. Only three gave it a slight chance of it being true. In this latest change to the story, the FBI and DOJ have admitted that they cannot validate it at all. Zip. Zero. Nada. The mainstream media and the Democrats will be without a case. Sorry about that.
