Often we may wonder why God does not heal us immediately when we pray

Often we may wonder why God does not heal us immediately when we pray. Perhaps He says, “Let patience have her perfect work” (James 1:4) because the trial of your faith is “much more precious than gold” (1 Pet. 1:7). As He works to bring forth His character in us, we can “count it all joy” (James 1:2)… for He has said, “If you would believe, you would see the glory of the Lord” (John 11:40).

Oh, how I suffered for 7 years during my teenage years because of my constant skin problems that I called “leprosy.” How often I devoured the gospels and studied the recorded healings of Jesus. “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (Rom. 10:17). But when God touched me and healed me in the twinkling of an eye, what rejoicing! My faith and belief in God soared to new levels and in the 49 years since, I have grown stronger and stronger in my faith for healing today. Oh, hang on. “Now thanks be to God, which always causes us to triumph in Christ” (2 Cor. 2:14).
