In fact, you may be experiencing deep discouragement and despair. You may even wonder if it is over for America. I would like to offer a beacon of hope with a little story of John Quincy Adams, U.S. president from 1825-1829. He was the only president who served in Congress after his presidency and he did so for 17 years. Adams was a representative from Massachusetts in a congress that was 80 percent pro slavery.
